The Bathroom - A girl's conference room

The Bathroom - A girl's conference room

At a party or any nightclub, you will watch or take part in the migration of girls who move in the direction of the toilets. One will say, "I need to use the restroom. Want to come?" The next thing you know an entire pack of girls is heading that way.

They enter the restroom and have conversations, fights, tell love stories, gossip, fix their make up, fluff their hair, make plans of action, scheme, cry and yes on occasion even share a stall. The newest thing to add to this list is FOMO. They are in fear of missing the latest gossip or even worse coming out to find everyone gone. These are the reasons why they have to move to the bathroom when the rest of their friends go.

My sisters and I used to sit in the bathroom and talk. Rachel would sit on the edge of the bathtub, while I was on the toilet. I know overshare, but honestly, we would just sit and talk for the longest time.

At one of my daughter's parties I was doing a tour of the premises and found a girl and a boy in the shower talking. Nothing funny was happening; they were fully dressed and conversing about other friends.

They looked shocked as I pulled the shower curtain back, "We are having a meeting, do you mind?" I actually laughed out loud and told them, "It is my shower, and yes I do mind. Move your meeting outside, please."

They seemed to have made their conference room the same as Rachel, and mine and for the record many a girls conference room – the bathroom.
